Yael Rizowy (she/her) is a New York City based audiobook narrator, voice-over actress, and comedian. Yael was originally born in Chicago to a proud Uruguayan-Jewish family who taught her to speak fluent Spanish AND appreciate the fine art of cooking the perfect brisket (yes, she will share the recipe if you ask nicely). 

Upon moving to NYC at twelve years old, Yael immediately told everyone she was going to attend LaGuardia Arts High School for Drama…even though she hadn’t auditioned yet. Thankfully she was accepted, and later had the honor of starring as Tracy Turnblad in their production of Hairspray! 

Yael then went on to study at The Boston Conservatory where she earned a BFA in Musical Theater (Cum Laude…smarty pants!) After graduation, she returned to The Big Apple to sharpen her comedic timing, physical comedy, and instinct for character by studying Advanced Improv at UCB. 

Throughout her voice-over career, Yael has worked with many recognizable companies including The Farmer’s Dog, Pringles, and Macmillan Audio. Her 4.9 rating on Audible has audiences praising her engaging delivery, distinct voices, and emotionally grounded storytelling. She specializes in contemporary fiction, romance, and nonfiction.​
